Anna and Valeria Lyshchenko are Ukrainian-born artists and founders of the artistic movement Primarealism. Working under the name F-Twins (female twins), they create art that bridges emotional depth, science, and philosophy to challenge our understanding of reality.
Their journey began as musicians before evolving into performance art, filmmaking, and visual works like oil painting, collage, and genuine gold leaf. After moving to the United States in 2015, they participated in numerous group exhibitions, including The Other Art Fair, till a recent performance with Yann Toma at The Opening Gallery in Tribeca and La Maison Française of NYU.
Their birth was a miracle. Doctors had assured their parents that they were expecting one child — a boy. Thus, the birth of two healthy twin girls came as both a shock and a joy to their family. This is why these two artists work under one name — F-Twins (female twins) — because that was the first thing their parents learned about them at birth.
Inspired by remarkable family members who dedicated their lives to science and humanity, Anna and Valeria authored their first manifesto in 2025: "Manifesto of Primarealism."
"Primarealism is an art movement that visualizes the greater potential of physical reality than we can perceive due to the limitations of technology and sensory capabilities. Art in this movement becomes a space for experiencing full reality and developing a new understanding of the connection between the observer and the physical world. By employing deep emotions and experiences, science, and philosophy, the artist merges Secundareality (the physical world we can see, which follows its laws until an observer appears - the "observer effect" in the double-slit experiment) with Primareality (the physical world that we cannot see, akin to dark matter, due to the limitations of current perception resources) to liberate the individual from the pressures of Secundareality. The movement reinterprets the fear of time and pain of existence. Primarealism simultaneously fosters empathy within the individual and compels reflection on your role in this world." — "Manifesto of Primarealism" by Anna and Valeriia Lyshchenko, 2025
"Without confrontation with those who follow different paths, with respect for ourselves and the audience, we invite all those who seek a new understanding of the world and our role in it to join Primarealism! Let people in the blue sky of indifference notice humanity's gold!" — "Manifesto of Primarealism" by Anna and Valeriia Lyshchenko, 2025
